After pursuing a number of odd jobs which exposed me to a variety of communities and responsibilities, I started teaching Art at the Turkish branch of an international school in Turkey. Although the institution closed after the year I joined, I completed &#8220;Making the PYP Happen&#8221; training that embodied the IB DP diploma I&#8217;d obtained in highschool.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve completed an online associate\u2019s degree in Child Development from Atat\u00fcrk University in Erzurum in June 2017, a one year teaching; certificate program from Marmara University, Faculty of Education and am currently enrolled in a online bachelor&#8217;s degree in Child Development from \u0130stanbul University, Online and Distant Learning Faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While continuing my education I worked at 3 different bilingual Turkish schools as an English Native homeroom co-teacher. The last school I worked at, I started as an Elementary English teacher and left holding a vice-principal position. In my years of teaching I&#8217;ve designed and planned lessons, projects enriched by curiosity and play, with emphasis on child-led choices\/activities driven by intrinsic daily routines and safe, clear classroom organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, I&#8217;ve completed a teacher training program through the Another School is Possible Association in 2020 which included introductory content such as non-violent communication, deep democracy, sociocracy, children&#8217;s rights and participation, and positive interaction to name a few. Most recently I was a facilitator at a 10 day well-being program based on nvc principles and aimed at teenage girls in the earthquake zone; through the training provided by Suna&#8217;s Daughters, a subsidiary of Suna-\u0130nan K\u0131ra\u00e7 foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It took a while for my life to cross paths with teaching after I graduated from the Graphic Design Department of Bilkent University.
