Communities of practice
June 4 2025: EU Synchronous Training Day
On June 4th, TASC community 1, 2 and 3 reconnected online for a full-day of training session. Taking place via virtual meeting platforms and with the support of the online learning paths through Moodle, this day-long event brought together trainees and trainers from all 7 TASC-countries for a series of interactive learning moments, group discussions, and skill-building exercises focused on empathy, dialogue, and intercultural understanding. It marked a key step in the Grade A blended learning piloting.
Each module had its place in the training: understanding ourselves & others, EU values and identity, Non-discrimination & equity, human rights & values and dialogue.

June 2025: Physical national trainings
Following the European kick-off in Murcia, national groups of trainees gathered for local face-to-face training sessions at the beginning of June. Each group met to deepen their understanding of sustainable communication and to contextualize the learning within their own school environments. These sessions offered a valuable opportunity to connect in person, share school-based reflections, and prepare for the upcoming EU-wide collaboration on June 4th.

20 – 24 May 2025: Piloting in Murcia with the CoP’s!
After months of collaborative development and feedback cycles from the TASC Teacher Board and the Community of Practice, the first grade of the joint training programme on sustainable communication, Grade A (Initial Grade), officially launched with a physical kick-off with 42 teachers from the Communities of Practice in Murcia, Spain (May 20th to May 24th).
This event marked the start of the first physical international training experience for in-service and pre-service teachers within the programme. Grade A is a 6 ECTS EU micro-credential, designed to build foundational competences in sustainable communication for both pre-service and in-service teachers. It introduces initial components of the programme’s five core modules: Human Rights and Values, EU Values and Identity, Non-Discrimination and Equity, Understanding Ourselves and Others, and Dialogue. It also integrates essential digital competences.

On March 31st, the European Community of Practice gathered online for another feedback-meeting. The group was eager to go through the materials and provided in-depth feedback.
December 2024: Community of practice – feedback grade A (virtual)
In the second TASC-year, grade A is further being developed by the consortium. In december, each of the communities of practice were invited to give feedback to part of the grade A materials. The feedback was to the point and inspired the consortium to finish grade A for the piloting in 2025.
September 2024: national Community of practice (virtual)
Time for a virtual Community of Practice in each country to kick off the second year of the TASC!
The community of practice met each other in an online kick off in September. The upcoming testing period for the toolkit will now run from September to December 2024, during which teachers will engage with these tools in real-life educational environments. Teachers of the community of practice are all critical friends. Feedback from this phase will be essential for finalizing the toolkit. CoP (Community of Practice) members will test at least 10 tools, providing detailed feedback for improvement.

April 2024: first European meetings of Communities of Practice (virtual)

This week (April 22-29, 2024), the EU Teachers Board (TB) and EU Community of Practice (CoP) are holding the first virtual meeting as part of the Teacher Academy Sustainable Communication project. International participants from various countries including Belgium, Romania, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Lithuania will come together to collaborate. Previously, national meetings were organized, but now we are working together internationally.
The EU CoP brings together teachers and students from different countries, forming new international groups based on national CoPs. Here, knowledge is shared and relevant project activities are conducted under the guidance of supervisors from various countries.
By collaborating internationally, students, and teachers enrich themselves in this theme. New challenges are embraced, leading to the emergence of European perspectives. Be sure to follow our Instagram and Facebook pages to stay updated.
January 2024: Kick-off of the 7 national Communities of Practice (physical)

At the end of January 2024, a pivotal national meeting brought together educators from pre-school, primary, and secondary schools, as well as student teachers, across several participating countries, including Belgium, Romania, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Germany, and Lithuania. In total, over 175 participants gathered in groups of 25 within their respective countries. This event marked the official launch of the TASC project, introducing its goals and creating opportunities for interaction among educators and students.
Throughout the project’s duration, participants will have access to newly developed materials designed to enhance their skills in sustainable communication. Additionally, a feedback mechanism will be in place to ensure the continuous improvement of these resources. Selected educators will also receive comprehensive training through a blend of online modules and in-person sessions, which will be held in Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. This training aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement sustainable communication practices within their educational settings.
The project provides tools and methodologies that will enable educators to engage collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of sustainable communication within educational institutions. Ultimately, the TASC project represents a crucial step towards integrating sustainable communication practices into European education, with the promise of driving transformative social change through empowered educators and inclusive teaching methodologies.
