Impact
TASC will offer new opportunities to a wide range of target groups. Teachers and teacher trainers will acquire in-depth SKILLS and adequate tools to develop sustainable communication habits in their professional and private lives. They will benefit from more mobility opportunities within the Alliance, such as short term physical mobility, virtual mobility and/or blended mobility, and be involved in international, interdisciplinary, intersectoral and intercultural projects thanks to the implementation of incentives and the TASC joint training programme of 20 ECTS.
The European Education and Education Area will be strengthened through the development of the TASC joint strategies on education and training, research, innovation and knowledge transfer and societal engagement, as well as through the promotion of European values based on the respect of academic freedom, institutional autonomy and democracy, equality, the rule of law and the respect of human rights. Teacher training providers will benefit from the Alliance’s dissemination activities and in particular from sharing best practices and lessons learned. TASC will thus enhance the excellence, attractiveness and inclusiveness of the whole teacher sector. Policy makers will be provided with new reliable policy recommendations based on the TASC lessons learnt and on regular consultations at international, European, national, regional and local levels through roundtable meetings. Policy recommendations will address sustainable communication and propose policy actions to accelerate the green and digital transition and ensure Europe’s Education Area future resilience to accelerate the transformation of European teacher education, enhance gender equality, inclusiveness, diversity and equity, foster creative talent development and circulation stimulate regional development and local communities. The socio-economic partners will have new and enhanced opportunities for collaboration with experienced researchers and academic experts in a new educational offer, including lifelong learning, joint research projects, new innovation methods and co-creation arenas to explore and solve multidimensional and multilateral interdisciplinary sustainable mobility issues together. By addressing all aspects of sustainable communication and listening carefully to the needs of the associated partners, TASC will contribute greatly to achieving the European objectives on teacher education.
The results of the TASC will have major short, medium and long-term impacts.
At short term with lasting effects at medium and long-term, the TASC will:
- Increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the teacher profession to the participating providers of initial teacher education (pre-service for future teachers) and continuing professional development (in-service) in Europe through the joint training programme of the innovative and qualitative TASC, a kick on European conference on the TASC, the enlargement of the alliance, the dissemination of guidelines of lessons learned, policy recommendations and the implementation of joint structures.
- Enhance a positive and close cooperation between the partners related to education (initial teacher education, continuing professional education, schools, ministries, European organisations). This cooperation will be extra supported by national and European teacher boards and national and international communities of practice with focus on competences related to sustainable communication.
- Develop teacher education policies and practices connected with the existing innovations and effective practices on sustainable communication within the different national teacher education systems.
- Develop and pilot a joint training programme TASC of 20 ECTS microcredentials divided in 3 grades (A initial, B continuous and C professions) organised for the consortium during the third year of the project and later on after the project embedded in the curriculum and programmes of the providers of the consortium.
- The TASC joint training programme with a combination of virtual, blended and physical mobility in every grade is expected to pave the way to make mobility an integral part of teacher education provision in Europe. As the joint learning offer will be part of the curriculum and the continuing professional development, the project will apply for STM (short term mobilities) and structured KA1 courses.
- The TASC joint training programme will be attractive and innovative. The Teacher Academy TASC will be rolled out within the consortium based on the sustained partnerships between providers of initial teacher education and of continuing professional development. The consortium will integrate the training of teacher trainers and teachers in the initial teacher education by giving the future teachers the possibility to follow the initial and the continuous training in sustainable communication. This will be embedded in the curriculum and students can choose for this training and achieve 6 or 14 ECTS. In the continuing professional development the training of the initial, the continuous and professional in ‘sustainable communication’ will be embedded in the programmes and achieve 6, 14 of 20 ECTS. A KA1 structured course makes this possible. The CoPs go on supporting each other in an informal way.
- A strong sustainable cooperation structure between the partners to offer the TA on sustainable communication with focus on EU identity and EU values through skill training in non-violent, intercultural and restorative communication and action, thus contributing to lifelong learning cooperation.
- Promote European values and strengthen the European identity in the modules of universal human values and human rights (module 1) and EU values and identity (module 2) also integrated in the modules of non-discrimination and equity, understanding ourselves and others and dialogue (module 3,4 and 5) through the initial, continuous and professional grades and a wide range of joint dissemination and communication events for all providers of initial teacher education (pre-service for future teachers) and continuing professional development (in-service).
- Ensure the promotion of gender equality, inclusiveness, diversity and equity thanks to the heavily involvement of two advisory boards (executive board, teacher board) and CoP in the governance and strategic development of the alliance.
- Improve teachers lifelong learners’ skills and employability perspectives, including entrepreneurial, transversal, intercultural, digital, and green skills through the involvement of stakeholders
- Boost the lifelong learning for all providers of initial teacher education (pre-service for future teachers) and continuing professional development (in-service)
- Contribute to regional development and positively impact the local communities and ecosystems through the set-up of a network of Communities of Practice and Teacher Board enabling improvements in societal well-being in relevant regions.
At medium and long-term, the TASC will:
- Become an actor of change for the digital and green transitions, for Europe’s recovery and future resilience by sharing its guidelines of lessons learned, setting policy recommendations, organising a triannual European conference, having an active and growing CoP of the TASC.
- Complete the long-term structural institutional transformation through continuous development and integration of joint governance and logistical structures, structures of joint education, innovation, and research, based on the Project Sustainability Plan written during the middle of the project.
- Enable skills circulation, which will help address the societal and school challenges, and build a more sustainable future through the expansion of its joint study programmes, continuing structure and programme for mobility of teacher students, teacher trainers and teachers.
- Become an essential provider of regional development and positively impact local communities and ecosystems throughout Europe by implementing new CoPs on sustainable communication, Stakeholder network and community and linking them closer to the joint structures of ongoing impact research, innovation and education on sustainable communication
- Be a catalyst for the launch of new programmes related on sustainable communication
- Keep our target group (stakeholder, teacher trainers and teachers) informed about the project and its results: The TASC website in which the e-learning platform will be integrated will be updated for at least 10 year with all actions carried out by the consortium partners concerning sustainable communication.
At long-term, the TASC will become:
- A vital contributor to a united, innovative, digital, connected, and green and social Europe, for Europe’s recovery and future resilience on sustainable mobility, a central force of uniting and reinforcing teacher trainers, student teachers and teachers, researchers, innovators, authorities, stakeholders, and policy makers within this interdisciplinary and intersectoral field.
An essential actor in leading to European and global social and technological innovation to address societal challenges, and build a more sustainable future thanks to European cooperation structures and networks across different sectors, joining forces, facilities and knowhow of academia, authorities, businesses and policy makers.
