AlmadaForma – José Diogo

José L. Diogo (Portugal) is a Geographer with a pre Bologna Master degree in Sciences of Education / Education and Development and the curricular parts of the Doctorates in School Administration and in Education Public Policies.
He has a long experience in initial and in-service teacher training as teacher in the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the New University of Lisbon. Between 1994 and 2007, he was researcher in CICSA — Research Centre of Social Applied Sciences and in UIED — Education and Development Research Unity in the Education Department of the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the New University of Lisbon, having participated as researcher in different national and international research projects in education. He worked as technician in Portuguese General Directorate of School Administration and was assessor of the Portuguese President of the Scientific Council of Teachers Evaluation. Between 2011 and 2015, he was adjunct of the Secretary of State of Teaching and School Administration. He published eight books of his own or in co-authorship and about two dozen articles in educational journals and proceedings of education conferences and seminars. He presented, over the last twenty years, a large number of communications in congresses, seminars and meetings on education in Portugal and abroad. Since 2018, he is Director of the Teachers Training Centre of Almada Municipality – AlmadaForma. As teacher, researcher and technician he participated in different European projects as project manager and collaborator ((Socrates, Comenius and Erasmus+).
