Eekhout Academy- Wim Simoens

Before being director of Eekhout Academy, he was pedagogical advisor for quality development and school innovation (inclusion and diversity) in schools in Flanders. He was director of a large secondary school, curriculum developer and a member of the Central Exam Commission of the Ministry of Education in Flanders. He was lecturer in the initial teaching training department of the University of Applied Sciences (KHBO-VIVES) and lecturer laboratory at the University (KHBO – University Leuven). He was Board Member of 3 schools for students with special needs and Board Member of the Flemish Centre for Aeronautical studies (VLOC) which is part of the University Leuven.
He started his career in education, first as an educator and later on as teacher of natural sciences in secondary education. He has a master’s degree in engineering (MSc) and a postgraduate in ‘School Management’ and ‘Language and Literature’.
